Gap is, in fashion terms, a household name. We love Gap for their basics and simple separates, and we’ve come to trust the name too. As for their tees – you can never have too many. The American retailer has had ‘Gap style’ down since 1969 but what you may not know is that Gap is not just about great basics and casual, cool staples. I was recently invited to Gap SA bloggers’ event hosted by Grazia and was wowed by their latest collection of prints and patterns, whites and acid brights. (Not what you’d expected, right?) And then there’s the denim. Let me tell you, everything fits like a glove.

I went for the 1969 sexy boyfriend jeans and styled them my way, that is to say, casual cool with a grey tee and understated tan handbag. In case you didn’t know, boyfriend jeans are back. Yes, in 2008 they were at a high and seven years later the slouchy, rolled-up, off-duty denim jeans are back and rivalling their skinny sister for dominance.

Here’s the thing, the boyfriend should fit loosely around the hips and have tapered legs that absolutely have to be rolled up so they have turn-ups. This is the ultimate ‘dressed up but dressed down’ look. While casual is cool, sloppy isn’t so do wear yours with heels and add a statement piece for a luxe twist. I went for a red lip. And one more thing, finding a pair of boyfriend jeans is no easy task and it’s definitely not always as easy as borrowing your boyfriend’s – the idea is to still look sexy, which means fit is everything.

One of my most envied items! I seriously have a life-long crush on boyfriend jeans and the androgynous look as a whole, but being a very curvy body type I find it hard to fit into the boy cut without looking rather ‘unflattering’ as it just doesn’t sit well. But I am loving your choice in the 1969 sexy boyfriend jeans, with the tortured detail. I however would’ve rolled them up twice for the turn up 😉 Otherwise Beautiful!

I love boyfriend jeans and these are just fab! I’m a curvy one myself Ackie trust me when you find the right one you will never have a sentence with ‘Boyfriend jeans = unflattering” because they flatter every body type. Its just that we (curvies) can never really rely on wearing items as is because we have curves so when you buy something, a little tailoring is needed to ensure a perfect fit in all the right places. I’m on whatsapp 0721910335 let’s share fashion views.

Boyfriend jeans are the best! They are the untimate “I just threw this on” statement but still maintaining style and relevance. I am yet to own a pair of boyfriend jeans but I am definately a fan.
Amazing pictures from Cindy Taylor and love your styling Jenna
