Last week these beautiful shades from O.P.I arrived at our office and we couldn’t wait to try them. It may be winter but that doesn’t mean you can’t splash out with colour and let your fingers do the talking, right? Here are a few of our favourite O.P.I shades and if you like them too, do tell us why and we’ll be sending all five your way.

O.P.I Thrill of Brazil (above)

It’s a classic. You can’t go wrong with a beautiful red like this (unless you paint them on long claws). Thrill of Brazil is a great red and regardless of season, it works – it’s sexy and sophisticated, as long as you keep your nails short.

O.P.I Can’t Find My Czechbook

It’s bright, let’s face it, but it’s bold and a beautiful shade of aqua too. Two coats will do the trick.

O.P.I Nein! Nein! Nein! OK fine!

This colour is great for winter. It’s dark, dramatic and the perfect shade of grey. In fact, in natural light it has an olive/black undertone but indoors it looks black/grey. The crème polish has a velvety finish and showed no chips after a full week’s wear. Apply a base coat to prevent the dark colour from staining your nails.

O.P.I Oy-Another Polish Joke

By now you would have noticed that O.P.I likes to have fun when naming their nail colours. This one is no different and the colour is amazing. The colour in the bottle doesn’t do this sheer golden shimmer any justice but three coats later and you have a golden shine on your nails that is perfect for a night out. Hell, it’s even perfect for a day in. Do go for gold with three coats here.

O.P.I Bubble Bath/two-tone mani

If you want to go for something a little more subtle, a little more feminine and pretty, you won’t go wrong with the O.P.I Bubble Bath lacquer. It’s a pretty pink – tried, tested and happy for a French mani and just as lovely on its own. And then there’s the two-tone mani. The dual polish effect is bold without being over the top (we’re not big fans of nail art; food, animals or wild prints on your fingertips look a little tacky). Pick contrasting shades (love the Bubble Bath and Thrill Of Brazil together) and give it a go by painting a diagonal strip with a small brush – or get a professional to do it.

Two-Tone Two-tone1

O.P.I is available at selected salons and selected Edgars, Red Square, Clicks and Stuttafords stores. Call 011 305 1600 for more info.
