The Topshop media opening in Cape Town caused quite a stir and many non-media people, yes, actually spent last night camping outside its doors. The first 10 to make it inside this morning, each were given a R1 500 voucher. But even so, that show’s some serious Topshop commitment!
Here is what you need to know: Topshop is hot. I don’t need to tell you that. On a recent trip to London I entered Topshop in Oxford Street at 10am and left seven hours later. Really, I love it. The new Cape Town store is amazing and I would happily go without life’s basics for a week to take most of their basics home. The Unique Collection stole my heart with tailored, structured and minimalist items that are definitely on the pricey side but that are investment pieces and timeless. Exclusive to the V&A Waterfront store is Topshop’s free personal shopping service in a beautifully designed personal shopping section – love! Try it. You will be assigned your own personal shopper to find exactly what you want and help style you.
Oh, and if I wasn’t being so self-absorbed, I would have picked up a few things for my boyfriend too. Topman has great pieces and I especially love the prints and comical printed statement tees that are cool without being cheesy.
So without further ado, here are my snaps and picks from last night’s media launch of Topshop Cape Town!
