Hot on the heels of PICHULIK’s collaboration with Jackie Burger and Salon 58, we are beyond excited about Katherine-Mary Pichulik’s latest design collab with designer Keith Henning of Adriaan Kuiters and artist Jody Paulsen for their S/S15 collection.
The duo invited the award-winning designer to create jewellery that are authentic and that tell a unique story to complement the clean lines and neutral colours of their latest collection. The end result is pieces that bring a bold and unexpected punch to the collection that is best described as “sporty-meets-arty”.
Katherine-Mary Pichulik shares, “I wanted to create pieces that excite and will appeal to women who push the boundaries and honour beauty. In other words, the PICHULIK woman.”
Pichulik too has been pushing boundaries this year. She is featured in the February issue of Vogue Italia and you can see her in the March issue of Marie Claire SA #MCNaked in support of Blow The Whistle, an anti-rape initiative.
Just in case you don’t know her bright, bold and 100% original designs – or simply want to see more – we asked three industry insiders about their favourite PICHULIK pieces.
First up, we chat to a very familiar face on the fashion scene, Chu Suwannapha, who chose this clutch because, he says, ‘I love the minimalist shape and the graphic lining. It’s modern and simple.’
ELLE’s senior fashion editor, Tarryn Oppel, picked this lined tasseled bag. ‘It is such a great piece! Everything about it is chic yet playful. I love the tassels. In fact, right now, I wish I could have tassels on all my bags!’
Raya Rossi from A Fashion Friend went for this black jewelled bracelet, saying, ‘I am absolutely in love it! The faceted beads and gold trim provide just enough romantic sparkle, not too bling and not too bland. Perfect!’
